Once, long ago, there was only Sweden and Denmark.  Knowing they were both special and therefore alone, in a world of mortals, a unique friendship was born.

Now best friends,  young Denmark and Sweden wonder if there is more to life and to their friendship.

I’ve had some ideas floating around for a while and I’m thinking I’d like to hold some events during the summer when everyone will be off on break. I was a HUGE fan of the event Nordipalooza back in March and I had such a blast that I thought a Nordic event that specialized strictly for pairings would be fun to put on. Out of all the Nordic/Nordic pairings, SuFin and DenNor get the most attention while DenSu and NorIce have some popularity but a lot of the fanwork tends to be more on the platonic side (or DenSu’s case just overly violent. Light-hearted works are hard to come by!). And then there’s the rest of the bunch like SuNor, DenIce, and DenFin, who are completely forgotten by the fandom as if it doesn’t exist. So why not hold an event that promotes the creation of fanwork for these forgotten pairings? It would get artists/writers to move out of their comfort zones and try something new and it would help bring these pairings to light; not to mention you’d be giving OTP feels to someone out there who might actually ship a pairing like the ones listed above!

As hinted above, this event would be strictly for Nordic/Nordic pairings only (Sorry if you were looking for other pairings! Maybe next time!) so the only pairings allowed would be SuFin, DenNor, NorIce, DenSu, SuNor, DenIce, DenFin, NorFin, FinIce and SuIce. Participants would be allowed to “flip the pairing” (ex. if you decide to do a SuFin piece you would have the option to draw/write it as a FinSu piece instead) and Nyotalia would also be allowed. We could use some more het and yuri/femslash in this fandom!

As for the girls event, the girls get very little love in this fandom and I don’t think an event has ever been done for them yet. The event would strictly be for the canon girls only so Nyotalia would not be allowed. Both events would be done under a prompt system. I really like the format Yuuago used for Nordipalooza (and is currently using for Eastern Europe Funk Fest) because of its simplicity and organized fashion so I’d love to be able to use it for these two events (though I’ll have to get the OK from him. I don’t want to cause any trouble since it’s his format and all!). Would anyone be interested in something like this? The Nordic event is pretty much ready to go but the girls event still needs some tweaking.

Reblogging from my personal account. Would you guys be interested in something like this? I think it could be fun and encourages people to create fanwork for the lesser known pairings. The event would probably be held in July with sign-ups happening in June so it doesn’t conflict with people doing exams and the Eastern Europe Funk Fest that’s going on next month. The main reason why I’m reblogging this here is because M-rated work would be permitted for this event!
